Weird But Instantly Effective Productivity Technique

I came across this productivity blog recently which turned out to be a great find.

I applied the technique of time buffering it talks about to instant effect!

The idea is counter intuitive, but it seems to work.

Before you start doing a task, just stop for 3 minutes.

Do nothing for 3 minutes except run the task in your head. Including the reasons for doing it, the method or the technique. You might think of something that might save you hours of effort.

For me I applied it on one of my projects and it allowed me to find a different (and much easier) "starting point" for my project. In the end the 3 minutes of doing nothing must have saved me hours of time (and frustration) on the project.
